Hosting a Hen do Craft Workshop

Back in March, I was delighted to be booked to host a private craft workshop at a Hen Do just a few miles down the road from me. The group had booked a lovely house to accommodate themselves for the Hen do weekend and when they got in touch were in the initial stages of planning out activities for their 3-day celebration, I chatted through some workshop ideas and options with the bridesmaids and we decided candle painting and clay would be a great way to for everyone to get creative and also have something handmade to take home from the workshop.

I arrived early on a Saturday morning to set up the space, we had a gorgeous long table in the dining room and the bridesmaids had arranged pastries & mimosas to enjoy over their craft session. Each of the attendees had a bespoke hen-do guide sheet with a step-by-step guide on how to paint florals, leopard print, and lemons (some of the bride’s favourite patterns) and everyone got stuck into practising with the paints on paper. Once the group were feeling confident I shared some tips and tricks for working on the candle, creating a balanced pattern and helping with colour combination ideas.

Everyone created 3 gorgeous painted candles before we created handmade candle stick holders with fimo clay ready for everyone to take home as a wonderful handmade memory of the hen do! It was a joy to host and lovely to embrace creativity with croissants and prosecco, a brilliant combo!
